play Sittin' in the Field

from Beautiful World

Sittin’ in a Field by Dean Jones

First you go down a dirt road
Look out for trucks with their heavy loads
When you spy the Brussels spouts
Now you’re at the start: the artichoke hearts

You can go through the bok choi
Now you’re really with the hoi polloi
Then you go round the cornfield
Ask the crows, they’ll tell you for real

When you go through the onions
You can break into a run
In the kale and the collard greens
Get down and you can make a scene

Oooh, now you’re sittin’ in the field
With all the tastes and smells and the feels
When you get to the end
You’ll wanna go back and do it again

In with the rutabagas and the turnips too
You can do a little boogaloo
Dig potatoes up with your toes
It feels good, goodness knows,

Oh baby, are you down with the tomatillas?
I’m hopin’ that I’ll soon see ya’s
If you make it to the carrot tops
Come on now honey, it’s no time to stop

When you end up in the beets
Soon you can rest your feets
Then underneath the sunflowers
You can rest for hours and hours and hours

Oooh, now you’re sittin’ in the field
With all the tastes and smells and the feels
When you get to the end
You’ll wanna go back and do it again

Oooh, now you’re sittin’ in the field
With all the tastes and smells and the feels
When you get to the end
You’ll wanna go back and do it again
